Do we use cookies?

No. No Wire Connect sets no cookies of its own - no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. There is no sign-in, so there are no login cookies either.

The Chrome extension sets no cookies at all. It keeps its settings in Chrome's extension storage (see the Privacy Policy, "The Chrome extension").

What we use instead

The website uses your browser's local storage for preferences (sound, "shrink photos", direct-transfer mode), session storage for the device secret of the bridge open in that tab, and the browser's private file storage for direct-transfer files waiting to be downloaded. These are functional, stay on your device, and are not used to track you across sites.

Requests to our backend carry a public API key and, for bridge operations, the bridge ID and your device secret. These are sent with each request, not stored as cookies.

Your choices

Because we set no advertising or tracking cookies, there is no cookie banner to accept or reject. You can clear site data in your browser settings at any time; doing so ends any bridge open in that browser. Removing the extension clears everything it stored.
